Biography

Rob started judo at the age of 7 and quickly developed the passion and desire to compete at the highest level. By his early teens Rob was competing and training both in the UK and abroad. Rob has travelled around the world competing at the highest level.

In 2001 he joined the Royal Marines Commandos at the age of 26 - 32. During his time in the Marines Rob also competed and coached and was invited to coach for other services including the Army, Navy and RAF. On leaving the Marines in 2007 Rob assisted in the development of a community project in Dartford where he delivered this Olympic sport to over 40 schools, whilst training and coaching in a Centre of Excellence for Judo.

In March 2008 Rob joined the Sports and Public Services Team at Bromley College, where Judo is now a Focus Sport. His expertise has quickly established the sport of Judo within the College and in many schools across Bromley Borough. As part of this role Rob is the Technical Director of Tsukuru Judo Academy where he is committed to developing the sport at our purpose built training facility, based within the Walnuts Leisure Centre, Orpington, Kent.

In April 2009, Rob begins a three year journey at Bath University to complete a Foundation Degree in Sports Performance which includes the European Judo Union Level Four Coaching Qualification.
